Hyperemesis-33 weeks

So it's back, and in full force I may add. Sorry if this is TMI but I've thrown up a total of 4 times today and it's only 2:37pm. I am exhausted, my stomach is in knots and I'm starving but afraid to eat. Oh, the joys of pregnancy.

Went to see my OB yesterday and he gave me more meds, measured my tummy because I was sure it was shrinking (it hasn't, the baby just dropped), lectured me about not taking my iron, and told me that if I went into labor after the next week in a half he wouldn't stop it. Not that he thinks I will or anything, but throwing up all the time leads to dehydration and dehydration leads to labor. I will also begin going in twice a week for NST tests, urine dips, and blood pressure checks.

During this visit I was also informed that my little girl is in the 90th percentile for weight. Now I know you're wondering, how the H%ll did that happen if she's throwing up all the time, but it was the same exact thing when I was pregnant with Cam. You see when you have hyperemesis the baby takes everything you have and leaves mom with nothing. They grow big and fat while the mom lays in bed thinking she's about to die. Anywho, in 3 weeks I will be getting another ultrasound to check her weight. Too big and I'll probably have another 37 weeker. And nothing would make me more happy.

Vacay- 32 weeks 3 days

On Wednesday Damon and I took the boys on a mini-vacay to the indoor water park Kalahari. This was our first time at this particular venue, last year we visited Great Wolf Lodge, which was cool but this place was much better! It was huge, the rooms were beautiful, and there were so many things to do that there was no time for anyone to get bored. Damon and the boys enjoyed water slides, wave pools, kiddie area and the arcade. I, on the other hand, enjoyed watching everyone else have a blast...The first day I did get in the pool but really didn't like the fact that it made me more nauseated! So the second day I didn't even bother putting on my swim gear, instead I lugged around all our junk and played on my phone.

Next year though we are going back and that's when I'll have MY fun. I can't wait! I think it'll be fun to get a group together, rent a cabana and really have a family vacation.

Here's a 4 minute video of Damon braving the surfing and boggie boards. Watch it, it's pretty funny.

Unexpected Dr. Visit- 32 weeks

Today was my regular 2 week check up. I expected to be in and out, but that wasn't the case. After I informed the doctor that I had been getting sick again he checked my weight (which hadn't changed much), asked me 1 billion and 1 questions, and then listened to the baby's heartbeat. After all that, he informed me that I was going to have some blood drawn, and then have a non-stress test. Being that I have bad veins and was slightly dehydrated the nurse had to poke me several times to get the blood.

During the non-stress test the baby seemed to be asleep, and even after drinking a can of ice cold orange juice didn't move much. The doctor came in and said the baby was non-reactive and an immediate ultrasound would have to be done to check for movement. I am happy to say that the baby passed the ultrasound. We saw her move around a bit and swallow amniotic fluid. Her lungs were moving and she's head down (2 weeks ago she was transverse). So far everything is looking good, but the doctor still refuses to induce me until 38-39 weeks! :( I'm going back next week for another check up and possibly another NST.

As far as things on the home front I really thought I was done with the nursery, but the longer I'm home, the more projects I create for myself. Damon and I added shelves to the closet, removed the doors and added a curtain. We also put together the two bouncers we received as gifts. I think I'm finally done...

Final Shower- 31 weeks 5 days

Yesterday, we attended our third and final shower hosted by our friends Baby's Family. With help from another good friend they opened up their home and threw a great b-b-que for all our teacher friends and family. The food was delicious, the conversation great, and we got a ton of adorable clothes to add to the baby's closet. The shower had a book theme (in honor of my publishing credits) and all the guests were asked to bring a book along with their gift. Because of this the baby already has quite a little library.

Now that all the showers are over it really feels as if I'm in the home stretch! I'm trying to keep busy so that the weeks just speed by. Next week I'll be extremely busy with a doctors appointment and DJ's 6 birthday plans.

The Planning continues- 31 weeks

I'm 31 weeks and the third trimester is not being good to me. It seems that I'm getting worse everyday, but really don't want my Picc line back either. I hope that I can hold out for the two remaining months I have left.

In preparation for summer ending, the boys going back to school, and me going in to labor I have begun planning for the big day. Damon and I have where the boys will go and how they'll get home from school squared away, and we have decided that they will meet the baby before anyone else. Friends and grandparents will have to wait until DJ and Cameron have the opportunity to meet their little sister.

I also took advantage of the buy one get one 50% off sale and Babies R' Us and purchased the baby's homecoming outfit. Based on my experience with the boys, I choose two different outfits, 1 preemie and 1 newborn. When both DJ and Cameron were born the little outfits I brought to dress them in were just way too big. As a matter of fact, DJ had to wear preemie diapers for the first 2 weeks or so. I'm going to be prepared this time.

The Zoo- 30 weeks 4 days

On Thursday Damon and I took the boys to the Detroit Zoo. We checked the weather report, made lunches, packed the cooler and were on our way. After the drive to the zoo and the walk from the parking lot to the entrance I knew that I was going to be in trouble. I popped a couple of Tylenol hoping that the pain in my legs, back, ankles, and knees would subside, but I was wrong. I did the best I could, hobbling around the zoo and sitting down every chance I got, but I felt bad for being a party pooper. The boys didn't get a chance to see everything they wanted to, although they told me they had fun anyway.

This week we also had a chance to begin putting the finishing touches on the baby's room. We purchased a lamp with shelves, the rocking chair cushion finally arrived, and I made a scrapbook book page to display on her dresser. I'm still waiting on the letters to display over her crib, and we need to buy a hamper. After that the only thing the room will need is the baby!

I'm Bored- 30 weeks

It's official...I'm bored out of my mind! With the nursery being nearly complete and school out for the summer I have absolutely nothing to do. Now regularly, I would be content to simply sleep most of my days away, but it seems that I have a bit of insomnia. I can't nap and I can't make myself go to sleep for the night until about 1AM!

With all this new found time on my hands I have picked up a few new hobbies: #1- watching 3 straight hours of Law and Order reruns every night and #2-scrap booking (well it's not exactly a scrap "book", more like a scrap poster). This is my favorite new hobby and Micheal's is my favorite new store. So far I've made pics for the boys to hang up in their room, but I can see myself trying to capture every single little moment in scrap form. I can also see this getting pretty expensive.

I also went to get my 30 week ultrasound this morning and I'm happy to report that I'm still having a girl. According to the ultrasound tech, my placenta has moved up and the baby is measuring 3lbs. I hope she ends up being about the size Cameron was (6lbs. 15oz.) Anything bigger than that and I'll be in trouble.

B-Day

It's my birthday and I'll celebrate how I want to. Even if that means sleeping ALL Day! LOL

Normally, I really don't get a present on my birthday, but this year my wonderful husband bought a beautiful charm bracelet for me. I've always wanted one, and now when something life altering happens I will add a charm to commemorate the event.

Something else that I got for my B-Day is my second novel, Things Forbidden in stores. It's still pretty exciting being a published author, although I haven't written at all since I've been pregnant. I hope to begin again in October or November. After all, it's important for mommies to still do the things they enjoy or else you will go insane!

New Room- 29 weeks

This past weekend Damon and I decided to bite the bullet and redo the boy's bedroom. We changed the white walls, making them red and blue and got rid of their ancient wooden bunk bed, getting them a new metal one.

On another note, I am a little irritated that I haven't had any dreams about this baby yet. Everyone else has...my mother, sister, Damon, DJ...I just don't get it. When I was pregnant with both boys I would have dreams about them non-stop, but not this time.

Oh well. My ultrasound is next week, I can't wait to see how big the baby is.

I've been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions lately, and my hyperemesis seems to be creeping back. I've had to increase my meds again, and make sure that I'm getting lots of rest.

Last Saturday we attened the closing celebration for Cam's Pre-school. He got a trophy and refused to let it go afterward. I can't believe how quickly the boys are growing up!
