Talent Show

This weekend Damon, the boys and I went to the I-Max and took advantage of their $5.00 movie special. We saw The Magic of Flight and it was great. Afterwards, we went back to my parents where DJ, Cam and Kayla put on a talent show.

Here's a pic of Evan wearing my favorite onesie. It says:

If you think I'm cute
You should see my mom

I love it!

Me and BC

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
So, I'm trying to figure out why I keep getting sucked into these political debates on the Baby Center Board. I've been a member of the September 2008 board since I found out I was pregnant with Evan and normally we discuss formula, strollers, and post pics of our little ones, but every once in awhile the discussion turns to the 2008 Election and someone pisses me off.

Debating with some of these women is like talking to 20 Elisabeth Hasselbecks (if you're a View watcher you'll know what I mean). I always get heated and end up calling someone an idiot. Oh the joys of BCB.

Preschool and Doctors Visit

Well, Cameron has spent two days at the new pre-school that is housed in the building were I work and the verdict is in.

Thursday was an ok day for him, but Friday was fabulous! I was super surprised to find that Cam didn't get on my nerves before school. After I took him down to the pre-school he seemed happy and immediately began talking to other kids (definitely not in his normal character). On Thursday the teacher told me that he had about three meltdowns, but after school when I asked him which pre-school he liked better, he immediately said the new one. He thinks that the old daycare is for babies and doesn't want to go back.

He'll be starting full-time on Monday, just in time for the field trip to the Cider Mill.

As for Evan yesterday was shot day. She got three (a three in one, two others, and an oral immunization) a lot of medicine for such a little baby in my opinion. She handled it like a trooper though, and was only cranky for a few hours afterward. She seems her normal, happy quiet self this morning. Here are her 2 month stats:

Weight: 10lbs. 2oz.
Length: 22 1/2 inches.

We asked about her development and the doctor said that she's pretty much going to be a month behind so we have about 4 weeks before we may hear a coo or anything like that.

Now that she has a little better head control we tried Evan out in her Bumbo seat. She did pretty well, but it didn't take long for her to slide over and down. I'll give her a week or two more and then try it again.

8 weeks old!

Evan is 8 weeks old! I can't believe it...she's growing up so fast. Her next doctor's appointment is Friday (the one with the shots) so I'll update with all her new stats then. I thought she had a cold, but I'm beginning to think it's just the weather. She was soooo congested last night, but after a hot shower and a lot of saline nose spray and that blue nose suction thing she hates she seems fine now.

Here's a little short video for ya. Remember the last video of her I posted? Look how much she's changed.

It's Hard Out Here for a Parent

It really is hard out here for a parent. And it's definitely an on the job training kind of position. Every kid is different and what works for one, WILL NOT WORK FOR THE OTHER! At least in my house.

Lately, we've been having some issues with our darling Cameron. Next week, he'll be visiting the preschool that's housed where I work for two whole days. We're trying to see whether or not being at a "Big School" and with kids his own age will cut out some of the problems. Of course, there's nothing wrong with the daycare he's currently in, but we're beginning to feel that it isn't the right fit for HIM.
Evan's loving it though and, for HER, we're loving it as well. She's staying put, even if big brother moves on.

I'm nervous about Cam being in the same building where I work though. Just the thought of it makes me want to tear my hair out, but I have to do what's best for my kid, no matter how much of a pain in the a#s it'll be for me.

Daycare

Today was my first day of work and Evan's first day of daycare.

Although I was sad that I wouldn't get to spend the day with her and watch hour upon hour of mindless tv, but I was really excited to go back to work. My day went by so fast that I barely had time to do anything. Although I did call and check on Evan.

Evan had a great day at school, and Cameron was sure to tell his teachers how to take care of his sister. He told them, "You need to get my sister, she's crying." Lol!

Enough about the kids...I have a toothache and it's killing me. I go to the dentist tomorrow and don't want any bad news. I hope it's just a cavity.

Family Pics

Saturday we took our first family pictures in nearly 4 years! Yes, I know it's been too long, but it was well worth the wait. The kids were very well behaved and the pictures turned out great!

These are just a few of the pictures we purchased.

Talk about boring !!!!

Hello world, I'm Dad. I'm currently at work for a team planning day, and boy this is boring. I've been sitting here for the last 30 minutes listening to individuals get a lesson on how to use a wiki in class. While I think technology is great, I can't stand to waste my time while others learn basic stuff. Any way I just thought I would comment for once. Oh, by the way Cameron had a great morning and is loving his new school. It will be great to see how he takes it when his little sis starts. Anyway, my team is calling me.... message received. I've got to go, hopefully my wife is obeying all local traffic laws. I love that speed demon, she kinda like Danika Patrick... but not. Way Hotter.

Dad... at work !!!!!
