Window Shopping-15 weeks

Yesterday, Damon and I went to Ikea for a bit of "window" shopping. We found a great crib that turns into a toddler bed and a armoire to match. Ikea even sold crib bedding that is cute and WAYYYY cheaper than Babies R' Us.

A Registery. I've been reading up on the subject and it seems that it's pretty tacky to register for gifts after having 2 kids already. But since we got rid of all our baby stuff I thought we may be an exception...right? Well, at least if you register Babies R' Us gives you 10% off any item that hasn't been purchased on your registery.

On another note, Damon, DJ, Cameron and I are all very anxious to find out the gender of this baby. My mother wants us to be suprised, but I told her that for me, the suprise is what the baby will look like. My next doctors appointment is Wednesday and I'm hoping that the baby will cooperate so that we can see something.

2nd Trimester-14 weeks

Today marks the beginning of my second trimester. I'm excited about this milestone because, of course, it puts me closer to delivery, AND, dare I say, I think I'm starting to feel a little better.

I got a new PICC line a few days ago, but unfortunately, it has a hole in it and needs to be replaced. I'm also taking less meds, hoping to wean myself, but I have been getting these migrane like headaches that are pretty bad. Although, I would rather have headaches than throw up all the time.

This weekend Damon, the boys, and I took a tour of the new 4 million dollar birthing center at the hospital where I will deliver. It was pretty fabulous and I can't wait to stay. There were huge jacuzzi tubs and labor showers, a pull out bed for the dads, flat screen tv's with dvd players and outlets to plug in your X-Box or Playstation (DJ and Cameron liked that part the best). They also had a great family kitchen with all kinds of goodies and snacks, and the best part...the rooms are for labor, delivery, and recovery! I won't have to move rooms after the baby is born. Needless to say, I was sold and Damon was as well.

Graham Cracker Meltdown-13wks5days

I pride myself with being a great patient while in the hospital. I mean, I'd better be nice or the employees may not help me, but today I had a complete meltdown in the ER.

It all began with my dire need for a pack of graham crackers.

My husband, Damon asked the nurse if I could have a pack of graham crackers. She proceeded to tell him that they can't give away graham crackers unless the patient has been in the ER four hours because of budget issues. What the...??? As if giving me a teeny-tiny pack of crackers is going to bankrupt their whole hospital!

Then she comes in and I ask again and she asked me, "Didn't you eat before you came?"

By that point I can feel myself unraveling, but I hold it together. I explain to her that while I did have breakfast before I came I was still hungry because I'm PREGNANT.

She turns away, in a funky little huff, and returns a few minutes later with SALTINES! When I asked her calmly for some f-in' graham crackers she then tells me that she thought I would like these better. Can you believe that? I really lost it then and told her that this was not my first pregnancy with hyperemesis and I really didn't need her telling me what I would like better and to get me the graham crackers!

I guess it's kind of funny now, but at the time, I really wanted to let loose some expletives and throw those stupid Saltines back in her face.

Whew...what a day.

THE ER-13 weeks

Well, yesterday I made my second trip to the Emergency Room because of arm numbness and chest pain. It seems that my PICC line had curled up and instead of putting the medicine I had been injecting every six hours into my veins it was putting it into my chest tissue and giving me a whole lot of pain. As a result, my PICC line is gone and I'm suffering more than ever. I can't work this week (who really knows when I'll return) because the nurse has to put in regular IV's here at home and my veins keep exploding. Fun, huh?

On another, happier note, I made my first and only new baby purchase a few days ago. A cute little undershirt, and as soon as I find the energy, I'll be adding to my Babies R' Us Wish List.

Movement??-Week 12

Yesterday I hit twelve weeks and according to Baby Center, my baby is the size of a lime. I also went for a 1st trimester screening that determines if you're at risk for Downs Syndrome or other Chromosomal defects. During this screening they give you an ultrasound and take some blood. At the ultrasound, I asked the tech could she see the sex. I know it's early, but I wanted to ask anyway. Well, she didn't want to guess because the umblilical cord was in the way, but I thought I saw something, although I'm not going to share now because it could have been my imagination.

On another note, I've been feeling something that seems to be my little lime moving around. With each pregnancy you feel the baby a little sooner than before and this is the earliest yet. Sometimes it feels like little bubbles and sometimes it feels as if the baby is moving from one side to the other. I love feeling the baby move around, that way, I know that it's okay.
